Correct Operation Method of Heat Exchanger Core Puller

2025-11-07

The heat exchanger core puller must be operated correctly. Improper operation during use may cause the tailstock of the core puller to be damaged by strong impact, resulting in economic losses. Below is a brief introduction to the correct operation method of the heat exchanger core puller.

The heat exchanger core puller

1. Fill the reducer gearbox with gear oil

Use 40#-50# mechanical oil or special grease for reducers as the lubricant.

2. Oil change requirements

Replace with new oil after the initial 160 hours of operation with new oil. Replace the bearing grease at least once a year.

3. Fix the tailstock

Jack up the core of the core puller to loosen it, then push the tailstock of the core puller tightly against the flange end face of the core puller shell. Drill matching holes on the shell flange and fasten the tailstock to the core puller shell with bolts.

4. Connect the core and start the motor

Wrap the core of the core puller with a steel wire rope, and fix the other end to the nut. Start the motor after confirming all connections are correct.

5. Arrange the supporting trolleys

Place two supporting trolleys near the core end. The front supporting trolley (close to the nut) should be slightly higher than the other one (adjust according to on-site conditions). When the core is pulled out, it will first contact the front supporting trolley. As it is pulled out to the specified distance, the core will naturally fall onto the other supporting trolley until it is completely extracted.
